Luton industrial site to bring 2,500 jobs to Bedfordshire

A new industrial site will bring an estimated 2,500 jobs to Bedfordshire. The Newlands Park development is being heralded as a ‘landmark gateway’ development into Luton.

Developer Wrenbridge Land is bringing new proposals for an employment-led development at the site, which was formerly owned by Luton Town FC’s development company. Now, the developer says, it will become ‘state-of-the-art’ business units and office space that could act as headquarters to firms.

The developer says it wants to create a gateway into Luton, hoping it can be ‘admired’ by people arriving in the town. It is thought it would support up to 2,500 jobs across the local, regional and national supply chain.

The site would be made up out of four business units with relevant landscaping. It would have both footpaths and cycleways through the site.

Richard Arnold from Wrenbridge Land, said: “We are excited to be bringing forward these high-quality proposals that will create over 2,500 new jobs for the town on this key employment site. We are committed to delivering a highly sustainable development that exceeds planning policy requirements. Our proposed state-of-the-art business units will contribute positively to the growing local demand for industrial, warehouse and logistics space combined with extensive, ancillary offices.”

The developer has recently launched a public consultation on the plans. This can be found here.
