Wrenbridge strike gold at the IAS Awards (twice)
Yesterday, the Wrenbridge team joined hundreds of attendees at the IAS Awards ceremony and were delighted to come home with two awards under their belt.
The first was for the title of Best Overall Scheme – Multi Let Industrial Estate for Arc, Aylesford, a 133,300 sq ft logistics scheme developed in conjunction with LaSalle Investment Management. LaSalle and Wrenbridge teamed up for the first time to develop this speculative logistics and leisure park in North Aylesford, and the pair were up against 20 other finalists for this award!
Arc was designed to create a highly sustainable product which creates significant health and wellbeing for occupiers and amenity and biodiversity for all. Testament to the quality of the scheme, Arc was 85% was pre-let five months ahead of PC, despite the effects of the pandemic. The first of the industrial units was pre-let to Swegon at £9.25 psf GEA, a market leading business offering solutions for ventilation, heating, cooling and climate optimisation taking a 15-year lease. Then, the local online retailer Must Have Ideas agreed to take 37,000 sq ft across two units under a 15-year lease at £10.00 psf GEA. Each of the pre-lets exceeded expectations, with each letting creating a new benchmark for the region.
With sustainability at the heart of all of LaSalle’s and Wrenbridge’s developments, the warehouse units achieved BREEAM ‘Excellent’ and EPC A. The development also features an ‘Ecology Park’ for use by the scheme’s occupiers and the general public. Some of Arc’s sustainable features include photovoltaics on every building, LED lighting and the installation of EV charging points for over 20% of parking spaces, 15% roof-lights in the warehouse, creating a high quality working environment, and all contributing to reduce Energy in Use and carbon emissions and a highly deserving win for Wrenbridge and LaSalle.
The second award was for IAS’s Rising Star title, which was awarded to Wrenbridge’s newest team member, Harry Gibson. Harry joined the team earlier this year, and his role is focused on sourcing and managing a variety of commercial projects across our portfolio, which is currently £1billion in value. Well done Harry!
Well done to all of the finalists and winners at yesterday’s ceremony and a huge thank you to the IAS judges for our two awards!
