Wrenbridge’s James Feltham speaks to Cambridge University’s Real Estate Masters course
James Feltham, Associate Director of Wrenbridge, presented to the students at Cambridge University currently completing their Masters degree in Real Estate.
The presentation was held at Legal & General’s The Grafton, Cambridge where Wrenbridge are working in partnership to deliver the shopping centre’s £28.5m refurbishment and a number of other sites suitable for development within the ownership. James discussed the changes taking place in the retail market and how Wrenbridge and L&G are responding to this throughout the planning and implementation of the refurbishment. This entailed adding restaurants, leisure facilities and creating an environment that the local Cambridge shopper would like to spend time in.
Wrenbridge have undertaken a masterplan of the local area and following extensive consultation will shortly be submitting an application on a new 153 bed Premier Inn hotel. The hotel will be built on an underutilised part of the ownership and will also deliver a new city park and wider improvements to the highways, cycle and pedestrian routes. The hotel will also bring new customers to the area which will benefit The Grafton’s retail, restaurant, gym and cinema offer.
He focused on the various income streams that comprise The Grafton, and the students responded with some very interesting presentations and insights on the different market sectors including retail, offices and hotels.
Wrenbridge are working hard to demonstrate the amazing regenerative works they have implemented at The Grafton and are keen for other projects to follow a similar tone. Wrenbridge currently have funding available for more projects like The Grafton, and many of their other schemes. For more information on Wrenbridge’s projects, click here.
